शिक्षक के अर्थ को और अधिक स्पष्ट कर पका और अधिक स्पष्ट करने के लिए निम्नलिखित परिभाषाएं अधिक सहायता करेंगी

( a ) शिक्षण का शब्दकोषीय अर्थ ( Dictionary Meaning of Teaching )

1. Dictionary of Psychological and Psychoanalytical Terms -इस शब्दकोष के अनुसार इस शब्दकाम दूसरे को सीखने में मदद करने की प्रक्रिया को शिक्षण कहते हैं ।

” The art of assisting another to learn ( which includes ) . ( instruction ) and of appropriate situations , conditions ora another to leam ( which includes ) providing of information appropriate situations , conditions or activities designed to facintate learning . ”

2. World Boom Encyclopaedia – के अनसार – ” शिक्षण एक ऐसी प्रक्रिया है जिसमें एक व्यक्ति दूसरे का ज्ञान , कौशल तथा अभिरुचियों को सीखने या प्राप्त करने में सहायता करता है ।

The process by which one person helps others achieve knowledge , skills and ‘ aptitudes .

3. ” The Lettle Oxford Dictionary के अनुसार – ” ज्ञान प्रदान करना , कौशल का विकास करना , अनुदशन देना , पाठ पढाना तथा उन्हें उत्साहित करना शिक्षण का अर्थ है । ” ” Impart knowledge or skill , give instruction or lessons , instil and inspire with .

( b ) विभिन्न विद्वानों द्वारा प्रदत्त परिभाषाएँ ( Definitions Given by Experts )

गेज ( Gage ) – “ शिक्षण एक प्रकार का पारस्परिक प्रभाव है जिसका उद्देश्य है दूसरे व्यक्ति के व्यवहारों में वांछित परिवर्तन लाना । ” _ ” Teaching is an act of interpersonal influence aimed at changing the ways in which other person can or will behave .

” रायन्स ( Ryans ) – ” दूसरों को सीखने के लिए दिशा निर्देश देने तथा अन्य प्रकार से उन्हें निर्देशित करने की प्रक्रिया को शिक्षण कहा जाता है । ” ” Teaching is concerned with the activities which are concerned with the guidance or direction of the learning of others .

” स्किनर ( Skinner ) – ” शिक्षण पुनर्बलन की Contingencies का क्रम है । ” ” Teaching is the arrangement of contingencies of reinforcement .

” स्मिथ ( Smith ) – ” शिक्षण का उद्देश्य निर्देशित क्रिया है । ” ” Teaching is a goal directed activity .

” जेम्स एम० थाइन ( James M . Thyne ) – ” समस्त शिक्षण का अर्थ है सीखने में वृद्धि करना । ‘ ” All teaching is the promotion of learning .

” क्लार्क ( Clarke . 1970 ) – ” शिक्षण वह प्रक्रिया है जिसके प्रारूप तथा संचालन की व्यवस्था इसलिए की जाती है जिससे छात्रों के व्यवहारों में परिवर्तन लाया जा सके । ” ” Teaching process is designed and performed to produce change in student behaviour .

” बर्टन ( Burton ) ने शिक्षण को अधिगम हेतु उद्दीपन , मार्ग प्रदर्शन तथा दिशाबोध कहा है । बैन ( Banm ) इसे प्रशिक्षण कहता है । रायबर्न ( Rybum ) इसे एक ऐसा सम्बन्ध मानता है जो छात्रों को उनकी शक्तियों के विकास में सहायता देता है । के० पी० पाण्डेय के अनुसार

” Teaching is an influence – directed activity . . . . . . It is influencing the learner with a specific content structure . ”

एडमंड एमीडन ( Edmond Amidon ) – ” शिक्षण एक अन्तःप्रक्रिया है , जिसमें मुख्यतः कक्षा तक होती है , जो शिक्षक व छात्रों के मध्य कुछ परिभाषित की जा सकने वाली क्रियाओं के माध्यम से पनि होती है ।

” Teaching is an interactive process , primarily involving classroom talk which tato place between teacher and pupil and occurs during certain definable activities .

” मौरीसन ( H . C . Morrison ) – ” शिक्षण एक परिपक्व व्यक्तित्व तथा कम परिपक्व के मध्य आप या घनिष्ट सम्बन्ध / सम्पर्क है जिसमें कम परिपक्व को शिक्षा की दिशा की ओर अग्रसित किया जाता ।

” Teaching is an intimate contact between a more mature personality and a less mature one which is designed to further the deduation of the later .

” विभिन्न प्रकार की अनेक परिभाषाओं का विश्लेषण करने के पश्चात् डॉ० शिव के० मित्रा इस निष्कर्ष पर पहुँचते हैं

” Teaching is a series of acts carried out by a teacher and guided by the formulation of teaching task in a formalised instructional situation . ”

डॉ० एस० पी० कुलश्रेष्ठ ( 1999 ) के शब्दों में कहा जा सकता है कि शिक्षण , प्रक्रियाओं की एक ऐसी व्यवस्था है जिसमें एक व्यक्ति दूसरे को ज्ञान प्रदान करने के लिये शिक्षण के कार्य को सम्पन्न करने के लिए अनेक प्रकार की क्रियायें करता है और छात्रों के व्यवहार में आत्मीयता के साथ वाँछित परिवर्तन लाने का प्रयास करता है ।
